Introduction

Arjun Rampal starrer Carry on Jatta 3 is an absolute steal at just Rs 6 crore and in one of the biggest franchises of Bollywood. The problem is there is not enough to latch on to, even though you are promised to laugh out aloud.

The best part about the film is that it takes a stab at itself and makes fun of itself. The movie is full of slapstick comedy and exudes that the makers were not serious about making something even remotely good.

One still expects an A-lister to be thrown into a film of this magnitude, but they are not here to entertain. Such was the case with this film as even the actor, Sunny Leone couldn't save the film from hitting a dead end.

Carry on Jatta 3 Review

The next scene also features a couple, who had to be ferried to an Indian groom, the brides side doesn't allow them inside the bride's house. Anindith (Nivetha Thomas) and her fiancé Nikhil (Totty Kumar), when they are about to be dumped in the wrong man's (Prashanth Rangaswamy) house, gets into an auto rickshaw that turns into a car and they end up in Jatta's (Prabhu) house.

Script Analysis Ganesh Raj has written the script, which has two potential actors, Nivetha Thomas and Prabhu in the lead roles. However, the movie is abridged to an hour, 10 minutes, hence making a movie only.

The viewers are deprived of some quality comedy, which the director could have made as a 'family' comedy. In fact, director Ganesh Raj makes it a 'family' movie from the word go.

The Story

The film begins in the year 2023. We are introduced to this world where everything is automated. There are no jobs, no idea of life. Yes! everything is automatic. The narrator introduces us to the life of an honest, hopelessly naive and mischievous local call center agent Sanjay Jatta (Arbaaz Khan).

He loves his job, cares about his fellow agent Pratibha (Taapsee Pannu) and his cousin Arjun (Abhishek Banerjee) is an NRI living in US. Jatta has a manager who is an impatient soul.

He likes all his employees equally but his favourite employee is Sanjay, as he is a hilarious character. One day, Sanjay meets a beautiful girl named Rashmi (Sara Loren) in the local market, whom he subsequently lures into the phone booth.

The Cast

Dulquer Salmaan has a very enjoyable character with his irreverent comedy and sheer charisma. He is absolute charmer and the film is all the more richer for having him as a hero. Sudheesh plays the brother-in-law of the groom, and there are some hilarious scenes between him and Dulquer Salmaan.

Karthika Muralidharan is a delight and so is Vasanth Ravi as the villain. Rest Of The Cast The film also features a whole lot of other actors in the supporting roles. Navdeep Chandran is one of the best things about the movie.

The script and dialogues are crafted perfectly and the songs are too good to miss. Aanand L. Rai’s Zero makes a special appearance as a cameo in the film. He doesn't have much to do in the film, but his presence adds to the proceedings.

The Plot

To solve their problem, the bride and her family members trek into the forests, while the groom goes to meet his friends for help. By the time the groom returns, the bride is dead. A week later, an angry bridegroom goes on the rampage to seek revenge against the real killer(read men).

By the end of the movie, the bride and her father along with the groom are back and all is well. The Highlights Manoj Pahwa played the role of a rascally villain, who has the occasional nice moments to stay in the audiences' good books.

The scenes where he's having a tiff with a woman in his class were hilarious and she couldn't hold back her laughter. Sagarika Ghatge looked hot as the grandmother, who deals with all the tantrums from her grandson. Her transformation is impressive. The Rating 1.

What I liked

It's a delightful comedy, which can make you laugh until your face hurts. What's interesting in the film is that is written by Neha Singh and directed by Kaushik Ganguly. Neha Singh's last film was Khoobsurat and she has made a hilarious comedy, which was what I was expecting from this film.

Neha Singh knows her characters and keeps her audience entertained. What's not-so-good The film does get a bit boring, which does leave the audience waiting for something more entertaining. I wish there was more comedy and also a bit more suspense in the second half.

Also, the second half of the film is way too long. Performances The film has four actors who have done a decent job. Sumeet Vyas and Kumud Mishra are a great comedy pair, as they play this dual character.

What I didn't like

a lot is the fact that the film has run-of-the-mill jokes. There's one that had me rolling on the floor, which I won't divulge since it's such a sacrilege. You will laugh and laugh but only to mock. The jokes are common and they aren't original.

Some are funny and some are mediocre. It does not take a genius to work out that the story has been overtaken by the ever-fluctuating chemistry between Manoj Bajpayee and Aisha Sharma. What worked I must admit, the writing works best with the three leads.

The comedy that is rooted in their characters, makes the film a wonderful watch. The chemistry between the two actors is very adorable and enjoyable. Aisha Sharma is very good as a young and bubbly girl who has issues with her own parents.

Family is important, but is it all it's cracked up to be? And in a society which is looking towards family as the ultimate source of all goodness and the pinnacle of civilisation, is it really the ideal family?

If a married couple doesn't have kids, is the society meant to 'respect' them? What if the single parent is still happy, or at least tries to be happy? Is the child supposed to be an extension of the parent?

Final Thoughts

Carry on Jatta 3 is a laugh riot! It's that perfect movie you need to watch with your family this weekend. Go watch! User Rating: Ajay (Divyansh Tripathi) has just lost his job due to insufficient work. How he is going to get his life on track when his soon to be wife goes missing for two days?

How he finds himself lost in a manhunt for his daughter who has run away to marry a Pakistani, and how he fixes his relationship with his sister-in-law, who is facing her own marital troubles, form the crux of this movie. How can you miss the beginning, you ask?

Well, that would be easy if you were not able to appreciate this movie for what it is. Carry on Jatta 3 Trailer : Carry on Jatta 3 releases on 17th May, 2018. Share with us your experience of watching Carry on Jatta 3.

Conclusion
