All of the hype surrounding Censor 2021 has reached a boiling point. It’s been six years in the making, and it’s finally time for the Hollywood blockbuster to hit the big screen.
Movie fans and cinephiles are lining up outside theaters on the first day to see the movie and see if it lives up to the hype. Here’s a spoiler-free review.

Censor 2021 Review
In the intro, director Sriram Raghavan introduces us to a world where every movie is rated and has to conform to certain qualities and issues. The future can be rated. If movies like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and countless other high profile series are played, then also every movie has to be rated.
It's based on years of experience, Sriram shares with us. He has shot nearly 1,500 films in the past decade.
His work in thrillers and thriller films has earned him this platform and he's using it to talk about the movie-watching experience. The movie opens with a child being torn apart in an animated sex sequence.
The Plot
Enid, a film censor, sets out to solve the past mystery of her sister's disappearance, embarking on a road trip that crosses into several bizarre locations. As she stumbles upon clues, she connects them with her sister's disappearance, as well as other events of a sadistic nature that foreshadowed her demise.
As the plot thickens and the viewer sees that there is much more to Enid's story, it becomes clear that she was a victim of the multiple truths that fester within the film.
who has carved out a niche for himself as a comic relief, is brought to life with finesse. His comic timing is perfectly on point.
My Opinion
Almost all known modern-day Bollywood movies are examples of comedy. Our viewers are made to believe that they need to laugh or be happy in order to feel good about themselves.
The recent release, “Censor 2021”, is completely opposite of that. The movie is dark and rather emotional. Written, directed and acted by Sumeet Vyas, “Censor 2021” is a dark, disturbing film.
The first half or two hours is good, but then it abruptly changes to a bizarre thriller. And the second half is slow paced, since it ends up like the movie but it definitely gives you an eerie, chilling feeling.
“Censor 2021”, after its release, instantly became the fastest trending film on Google. Its graph never saw any dip during its first week. It became the fourth highest grossing film of the year.
The Ending
Plot Enid's sister Leila (Aamina Sheikh), an Indian born in the US, is being pursued by two highly sensitive sleuths, two legal profession brothers, Javed (Shafiq Syed) and Ismail (Farhan Saeed). The first time Enid sees Javed he is merely rushing past her in an auto rickshaw when she learns about Leila.
Leila, who has married a US citizen, is living with him while Javed goes on after her. He wants to file a habeas corpus and goes to Washington, taking only the youngest of the three children with him. He meets her there, but she has moved away, so he also goes to her old house. Finding the house empty and his brother's place locked up, he then takes Ismail and also Ismail's two elder siblings.
The Verdict

Censor 2021 Movie Review After viewing a strangely familiar video nasty, Enid, a film censor, sets out to solve the past mystery of her sister's disappearance, embarking on a voyage of discovery that will take her from the twisted capital of horror, “Tishby”, and into the dark heart of the Channel Tunnel where her little sister was held captive.
Enid, daughter of the Chief of Police, senses something is wrong, and it soon becomes clear that her sister was a runaway from a school that had gone rogue and turned into a military training camp. Working with a former soldier on a covert investigation is a dubious talent that Enid seems to have mastered.
Conclusion
Censor 2021 is undoubtedly a must-watch movie. It's not that the movie is exceptionally great, in fact it's quite mediocre and can't stand against the award-winning movies of the previous years but what it does bring in terms of entertainment value is pretty good.
The film is brilliantly crafted and though it has quite a few drawbacks it's a must watch film to be exact.
